Okay, so this is my first month on Fiverr.
I will give you my experience and thoughts.
A lot of people on their first month of Fiverr is usually when they will give up and forfeit the website because making their first couple of orders is TOUGH. That’s not a lie.. making my first 3-5 orders was no easy task and took just about half the month. Why is this?
Well, Fiverr works off rank, and SOCIAL status. So if you have no orders and no reviews for people to look at, you are basically a nobody to everyone.
THANKFULLY, I think the power of my youtube channel gave me most of my kickoff leverage in proving my worth to people.
I think the first week, I had like 2 orders.. the second week, I had like 1 order. Very depressing. And I had to market HEAVILY just for those 3 orders.
The following week after that I kept marketing and marketing my ass off.. made 3 more orders.
Around 3 days ago (here at the end of the month) I experienced what it’s like to be ‘noticed’ a little bit on Fiverr. My rank must have went up because all of a sudden orders started coming in and in ONE day I did about 6 orders (that’s SIX voice over projects), and I think I made around $60. Mind you, this is WITHOUT being a Level 1 or Level 2 seller.
Keep in mind I do about 125 words for $5, and the increment of price grows as the word count grows. So 126 – 250 would be $10. So we’re talking about a voice over session that takes about 5-15 minutes of work for each project.
You say, “SIX VOICE OVERS for $60..!??! That’s not much money! You’re stupid”, BARE WITH ME…
For those that don’t know, if you sell well on Fiverr and grow your rank (rank is determined by how much money you’re making on orders, how quickly you respond to people, how quickly you deliver your work, and your reviews). You reach Level 1… and then Level 2, and if you are FANTASTIC, you’ll get the highest rank of “Top Seller” for which Fiverr staff hand pick their top sellers personally.
So, I’m quite impressed.. I made $60 with basically ‘no status’ perks, and no seniority, seeing as how I am brand new.
Why is this fascinating to me?? Because I’m looking at the future. Most voice talents and actors audition for work, and wait around for that next $800 gig. How many times did I audition on Fiverr? NONE… the orders came to me, as if I were a store front selling merchandise. If this grew to about $200 a day (my goal right now), then that’s nothing to sneeze at. I’d be doing a hell of a lot better than I was auditioning 20 times a day for projects I’d never get, and potentially wasted days.. Not to mention that once you start gaining your “Levels” the tools available to you for UPSELLING become available to you, increasing the amount of money you can make on your gigs. I’m very optimistic.
I won’t talk too much on it right now… lets see what Month 2 will bring.
